-- Label Types

Essential Labels
for Your Garments.

Each label type serves a specific function in your finished garment. Understanding what each label communicates -- and what information it requires -- helps us produce the right result from the start.

Main Labels

Brand Identity Label

The main label carries your brand name, logo, or identifying mark. It is typically sewn at the inside back neck or another prominent interior position, and is one of the most visible branding elements in the finished garment.

Client provides

  • Brand name, logo or artwork file
  • Preferred dimensions and color references
  • Material and fold preference (if any)

Care Labels

Care & Composition Label

Care labels communicate fabric composition, washing instructions, country of origin, and any other information required for your target market. They are typically sewn at the side seam or inside the back neck, and are a standard requirement for garments sold internationally.

Client provides

  • Fabric composition and care instructions
  • Country-of-origin text
  • Any market-specific regulatory text

-- Placement Options

Label Types and
Placement Options.

Label position affects both brand presentation and wearer comfort. The right placement depends on garment structure, fabric weight, and how the label will be sewn and finished.

Clothing label placement options on garments

Label Placement Reference

Neck · Seam · Hem

Inside Back Neck

The most common position for main labels and size labels. Placement, fold style, and sewing method are confirmed based on neckline construction and collar structure.

Side Seam

A standard position for care labels. Side seam placement keeps the label discreet while ensuring it remains accessible. Label height and seam allowance are confirmed with the garment pattern.

Lower Hem

Hem labels are increasingly used as an exterior branding detail on streetwear and casualwear. Position, size, and sewing method are reviewed against the garment hem construction and fabric weight.

Waistband

Common on trousers, shorts, and skirts. Waistband labels typically carry brand name and size information and are sewn into the interior waistband seam during production.

Pocket or Exterior Detail

Some brands use woven or leather-look patch labels on chest pockets or sleeve openings as a visible exterior branding element. Suitability depends on fabric and garment construction.

Note: Final label position and dimensions are confirmed together with your garment sample, taking into account fabric thickness, seam structure, and wearer comfort. We will advise on placement during the development stage.

Material & Fold Selection

Based on your garment type and label position, we advise on suitable material and fold options. Final selection is confirmed before label production.
