Every sample we produce is a custom development -- made to your specifications, using sourced materials and dedicated pattern work. This page explains how our sample process works, from fees and timelines to confirmation and bulk production standards.

A sample is produced to verify the fabric, fit, measurements, construction, and overall appearance of your design before committing to bulk production. It is the physical reference that both parties agree on and the standard by which bulk garments are manufactured.
Because every sample at Yizhe Studio is developed from scratch -- based on your sketches, reference images, tech packs, or physical samples -- each one requires material sourcing, pattern development, and dedicated production time.
For this reason, samples are not free. They are a custom development service, not an off-the-shelf product. The sample fee reflects the actual work and materials involved in bringing your design to life.

Product Construction
The complexity of the garment structure -- number of panels, seam types, closures, and construction details -- directly affects the sample fee and production time.
Fabric & Trims
Fabric type, weight, finish, and minimum order requirements, as well as the complexity and sourcing of trims, hardware, and labels, all factor into the overall assessment.
Printing & Embroidery
Screen printing, puff, rubber, DTG, embroidery, appliqué, and similar techniques each carry their own setup and execution requirements that are reflected in the sample cost.
Garment Washing & Dyeing
Garment washing, enzyme wash, stone wash, dyeing, and other finishing treatments involve additional processing steps that affect both timing and cost.
When Production Begins
Sample production begins after all design details have been confirmed and the sample fee has been received. The timeline is communicated clearly at the start of each project.

We distinguish between standard revisions based on sample feedback and significant design changes that require new development work.
Standard
Normal Revisions
Revisions based on your sample feedback -- such as adjusting measurements, refining fit, correcting construction details, or making minor changes to placement or finishing -- are part of the normal sample development process.

Additional Cost May Apply
Major Design Changes
Changes that go beyond the originally confirmed design direction require new materials, pattern work, or additional production steps. These are treated as new or extended development and may incur additional fees and extended timelines.

- Adding new printing, embroidery, or washing techniques
- Requesting additional colorway or size versions
Our recommendation: Share complete and detailed design information before development begins. Clear references, measurements, and technical requirements at the start help minimise revision rounds and keep your project on schedule.

The approved sample becomes the binding reference for all bulk production. Every garment in the bulk order is manufactured to match it.
Sample Review & Approval
Clients may confirm the sample by reviewing photos and measurement reports we provide, or by physically receiving and inspecting the sample. Both methods are accepted. Written confirmation is required before bulk production begins.
Shipping Arrangement
The shipping method, destination, and related cost are confirmed before dispatch.
Bulk Production Reference
Once the sample is approved, bulk production is carried out according to the confirmed reference, which includes the approved sample, size specifications and measurements, fabric, color and trims, printing or embroidery details, and labels and packaging requirements. No deviations are made without written agreement.
