Puffy
Silhouette
-- Shell, Lining & Fill
Materials that define
how your puffer looks,
feels, and wears.
Shell fabric, fill material, and lining work together to determine the surface appearance, hand feel, weight, loft, and overall structure of a puffer jacket. We source and develop each component according to your project's specific requirements.
1 Shell Fabrics
Nylon Ripstop
Lightweight and tightly woven with a clean surface. Resists tearing and holds its shape well. Common in technical and streetwear puffer constructions.
Polyester Taslan
Matte, textured surface with good body and drape. Widely used in casual and streetwear puffers. Versatile across colorways and finishes.
Glossy / Shiny Nylon
High-sheen surface that gives the jacket a bold visual presence. Frequently used in fashion-forward and statement streetwear puffer styles.
Coated / Waxed Fabric
Surface-treated shell with a structured, slightly stiff hand feel. Adds a workwear or heritage aesthetic to the overall puffer silhouette.
2 Fill Materials
Polyester Fiberfill
The most widely used synthetic fill option. Provides consistent loft and body, and is available in multiple weights to adjust the jacket's volume and structure. Washable and suitable for casual and streetwear puffers across price points.
Down Alternative
Microfiber or cluster-fill alternatives engineered to replicate the softness, drape, and lightweight feel associated with natural down. Suitable for fashion-forward puffer styles where a refined hand feel and reduced weight are priorities.
Other Fill Options
Additional filling materials -- including flat wadding and structured batting -- are evaluated according to each project's silhouette requirements, construction method, and intended hand feel. Fill selection is confirmed during the development stage.
3 Lining Options
The lining influences the interior hand feel, overall weight, and how the jacket sits on the body. Lining type is selected in relation to the shell construction and fill method used in each project.
- Taffeta lining -- smooth, lightweight, and the most common interior choice for puffer jackets
- Mesh lining -- breathable interior suited to lighter-weight or transitional puffer styles
- Fleece lining -- adds interior softness and weight, suitable for heavier puffer constructions
- Printed lining -- custom all-over print or branded pattern on the interior for brand identity
Development Note
Shell, fill, and lining are confirmed together during the development stage to ensure the finished jacket achieves the intended appearance, weight, loft, and hand feel.
-- Silhouette & Construction
Streetwear fits, quilted structures,
and every detail in between.
The silhouette and quilting pattern are core to a puffer jacket's identity. We develop each element -- from overall fit to channel width and baffle direction -- according to your design direction.
Silhouette Options

Maximum volume for streetwear silhouettes.
- Dropped shoulders
- Extended body length
- Extra layering room

A wide, structured shape with a shorter body.
- Square-cut body

A compact waist-length silhouette with bold proportions.

Quilting & Baffle Structures
Horizontal Channel Quilting
Evenly spaced horizontal stitch lines divide the jacket into parallel channels running across the body. Fill sits uniformly within each channel, producing the classic puffer silhouette -- clean rows, consistent volume, and an immediately recognizable structured look.
Wide Baffle Quilting
Fewer, broader baffles allow fill to expand more freely within each section, creating a pronounced, rounded volume. The wider spacing gives the jacket a bold, sculptural silhouette -- a favored choice for oversized and fashion-forward puffer styles.
Box / Panel Quilting
Intersecting horizontal and vertical stitch lines divide the surface into individual box or panel sections. Fill is contained within each cell, distributing volume evenly across the jacket and lending a graphic, geometric quality to the overall silhouette.
Construction Details
Stand Collar
Clean, structured neckline with a padded stand. Minimalist and widely used in streetwear puffers.
Detachable Hood
Zip-off or snap-off hood adds versatility. Can be padded or non-padded depending on the design.
Patch Pockets
Exterior patch or welt pockets with zipper or snap closure. Placement and sizing confirmed during development.
Ribbed Cuffs
Knit or woven rib cuffs at the sleeve hem. Seals warmth and adds a sporty or casual finish to the jacket.
Hem Drawcord
Adjustable drawcord at the hem for fit control. Common in technical and streetwear puffer constructions.
Custom Zipper
Main zipper, pocket zippers, and custom zipper pulls developed to match your brand's hardware direction.
-- Embroidery, Print & Labels
Brand details that
make your puffer
unmistakably yours.
Decoration and branding on a puffer jacket require careful consideration of the padded construction. Embroidery placement, print method, and label positioning are all confirmed during the development stage based on the shell fabric, fill thickness, and baffle structure.
We coordinate decoration and branding as part of the full development process -- not as an afterthought -- so every detail works with the construction rather than against it.
Embroidery
Brand logo embroidery applied to the chest, sleeve, or other suitable placement areas. Stitch count and placement are evaluated against the shell fabric weight and fill thickness to ensure clean execution without distortion.

Printing
Brand graphic printing applied to shell panels of the puffer jacket. Print placement is confirmed before bulk to ensure the design works correctly across the quilted surface structure. Printing options are evaluated based on shell fabric, surface finish and padded construction.

Patches & Appliqué
Brand application options including woven patches, embroidered patches, or appliqué. Each method adds dimension and texture to the jacket surface; suitability is evaluated based on shell fabric and construction to ensure secure attachment and lasting quality.

Every label and trim touchpoint is an opportunity to reinforce your brand identity. We develop all branding components according to your specifications, from label content and placement to zipper hardware and packaging.
Main Label
Woven or printed main label at collar or back neck. Custom size, font, and logo artwork.
Size Label
Woven or printed size label attached to main label or sewn separately at side seam.
Care Label
Wash care and composition label per destination market requirements. Custom printed or woven.
Sleeve Label
Woven or rubber sleeve badge for additional branding placement on the outer shell.
Zipper Pulls
Custom branded zipper pulls for main zip, pocket zippers, and hood adjusters. Metal or rubber options.
Hangtag & Packaging
Custom hangtag design and branded packaging developed alongside the garment for a complete brand presentation.
Important Note
Decoration techniques on puffer jackets must be evaluated in context of the shell fabric, fill thickness, and quilting structure. We confirm decoration feasibility and placement during sample development -- not after bulk production begins.
-- From Sample to Bulk
A clear path from your design
to production-ready puffer jackets.
We manage the full process from initial design review through bulk production and quality inspection. Each stage is confirmed before moving forward, so what arrives matches what was approved.
Design Review
Review tech pack, reference images and customization requirements.
Material Selection
Confirm shell fabric, lining, filling and trim direction.
Sample Development & Approval
Develop and revise the sample before final confirmation.
Bulk Production
Proceed with production based on the approved sample and confirmed specifications.
Quality Control
Check workmanship, measurements, branding details and packing before shipment.
What to include in your inquiry
The more detail you share, the faster we can review your project and provide a relevant response. You don't need a finished tech pack to get started -- reference images and a brief description of your requirements are a good starting point.
